I’m Tim Tavaria, a Melbourne based tattoo artist, creative, and visual storyteller.

I’ve been tattooing for over 15 years, and my path into this world came from a genuine love of creating, learning, and building something meaningful with my life. I didn’t come from a traditional art background, but over time tattooing became the thing that taught me how to see properly.

It taught me to understand shape, flow, placement, contrast, colour, balance, and the way a tattoo needs to work with the body rather than just sit on top of it.

For me, good tattooing is not just about making something that looks impressive on the day it is finished. It is about creating a piece that feels right for the person wearing it. Something that suits their body, moves with them, settles in over time, and still makes sense years later.

That idea has shaped the way I work.

I create custom tattoos for people who want something considered, personal, and built with intention. A lot of my work is influenced by nature, animals, movement, mythology, symbolism, and the emotional connection people have to the pieces they choose to carry.

I often work freehand on the body so the design can respond properly to each person’s shape, placement, and natural flow. To me, that part of the process is really important. It allows the tattoo to feel like it belongs there, rather than feeling forced or disconnected from the body.

I’m known for Neo Traditional tattooing, bold colour work, Black & Grey tattoos, large-scale pieces, animal designs, floral concepts, and tattoos built around flow and longevity. But more than any single style, my focus is on creating work that feels thoughtful, wearable, and made for the individual.

After more than 15 years in the industry, tattooing has become more than just making images on skin. It has become a way to help people feel more confident, more connected to themselves, and more comfortable in their own skin.

Some people come in with a clear idea. Some come in with a feeling, a story, or a part of themselves they want to mark properly. My role is to listen, understand the direction, and help shape that into something strong, personal, and built to last.

Alongside tattooing, I also work in photography, videography, content creation, and creative mentorship. To me, these are all connected by the same idea: learning how to see, communicate, and create with intention.
